Ever since Elijah was born people have been mistaking him for a girl. I know that sounds bad, but I just assumed it was because he had such an angelic face. However, he is now getting blond curls on the back of his head and this makes the mistaken gender even a bit more difficult to handle. Ian has mumbled something about a mullet and brought up a haircut a few times, but I just can't bring myself to do it just yet. I keep telling him it looks like a little surfer boy, but the fact that he isn't tan AT ALL doesn't really go with that image. I don't know....is it horrible to think it is OK for boys to have longer, curlier hair? What do you guys think?
I love the blond curls. Both my boys kept theirs until I decided it wasn't cute any more. Once you cut those cute curls off--they never come back :( He does not look like a girl. Aunt Carol
ReplyDeleteI agree--he's adorable! I left Ty's until he was maybe 13-14 months. By then Sean said he was going to cut it if I didn't take him to get it done. Lord knows I didn't want THAT to happen! I wouldn't worry about cutting it though-wait until you're ready! I agree they don't come back. His hair has tons of body now I guess that's the replacement???
ReplyDeleteDress him in army gear and have him wear a tie most days. :) HE looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteawww, i think it's cute!!! and i totally think he looks like a BOY!! hee hee. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember going through that with Jackson for a bit tho...i'll have to send you some pics, bc it was VERY similar to how elijah's looks! we did cut it shorter eventually, but kinda missed the curls after that. :(
love you!
I wouldn't worry about it. Drew has a very boy haircut and wears brown or blue nearly every day, and someone asked me yesterday if he was a girl or boy. Really people!?!
