Camping Weekend

Gamma and Gampa purchased our family a tent for Christmas and because they were on backlog at Sears, we just received our tent this past week in the mail. Of course, as soon as the tent arrived the boys wanted to plan a camping trip.

So, we decided to take a quick weekend trip to Mother Neff State Park, which is only ten minutes away from MiMi and Papaw's house in Moody, TX. It was the perfect weather for the weekend, although the nights got a bit cold, the boys had a blast!

Elijah was extremely proud of all the fire wood he had gathered and meticulously stacked in the campfire spot

the boys are so friendly; they say hello to everyone camped near us.
that being said, our campsite neighbors were kind enough to let the boys sit on their bike before they headed out in the morning.

It was such a beautiful weekend to be out in nature!

Bluebonnets in Texas

It is a classic Texas tradition to take photographs in spring time when the Bluebonnets (the Texas state flower) appear. It is illegal to plant or pick them so the wildflowers just bloom where they may.

We took a trek up the top of a hill near our house last weekend and the boys sat down in the middle of the Bluebonnets to take these pics. Enjoy:

Easter

The boys had a blast on our front yard Easter Egg hunt this year. They woke up Saturday morning and wanted to have an Easter Egg hunt for ourselves since this house doesn't belong to an HOA or have any organized neighborhood party.

So, Ian and I hid some eggs in the front yard (really serious hiding by the way) and they ran out in search of treasure. Here are some pics from our Easter weekend.

Our New Place

We recently made the big move up the hill to Lake Travis. We are enjoying our new house and the gorgeous view.  Since we are in real estate, our houses pretty much go on the market the day after we move in and we never know how long we will be in a certain location, but we enjoy all that God gives us in the meantime.

The new house is about the same amount of square feet, it is just designed a little different in terms of rooms and layout. The home is a tri-level off the side of a beautiful hilltop overlooking a peninsula on Lake Travis. Here are some images of the new pad:

Fun times in 2013

What a cool kid! Elijah's first movie in 3-D! Noah, Uncle Adam, Aunt Chandra and Ant Kellye all dropped by to see Monster's Inc. in 3-D at the theater. The boys had a blast and talked about their 'big boy' movie date for weeks afterwards. :)

Mommy's treat! Ian and I's 10 year wedding anniversary comes around this year and as a token to our marriage, I received a gorgeous new anniversary ring. I absolutely adore it and Ian blew me away with his generosity and love. I will cherish it for years and years to come!

My hubby and I headed out on a date night!
